Teacher's Page

This webquest is tied to the educational standards that can be found on

http://www.ctcurriculum.org/standards_menu.asp

The Content Standard that this relates to is:
Science K-4

The Universe.
Content Standard 10: Students will understand that the Earth is a unique, dynamic member of the solar system, located in a galaxy within a changing universe

        h. Know that the Earth is one of several planets that orbit the sun, and the moon orbits the earth.
        k. Recognize that information and photographs from orbiting spacecraft have added to our knowledge of the Earth and the universe.

For this type of webquest, I would give the kids about 2 week to find the information they need, write a 1 page report, get together with their group, make an oral presentation, and create a visual aid. Although, it would probably depend on the size of your class, and your access to the internet. If you have a computer lab that you can gain access to, this would be very beneficial.

Remember along with the internet you could encourage students to use books, encyclopedias, and dictionaries for help.
